Charles Cleveland – Mr. Cleveland was a Scoutmaster of Troop 189 at Greater Institutional AME Church in Chicago, IL. His contributions were to assist in setting the groundwork for the expectations within the AAMES Organization.  Mr. Cleveland served on the “Connectional Relations Committee”. He coordinated the various Scouting units in AME churches.

This scholarship is awarded at the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Christian Education Congress and at the AAMES Camporee for a deserving Boy Scout. Eligibility and requirements as follows:

Award:  $250

Deadline:  March 31, 2024

Requirements:

Must have earned the Boy Scout Eagle Award (documentation requested) and have a 2.75 GPA or higher (Provide copy of transcript or report card). Must have demonstration of practical citizenship in Boy Scouting, school, community, or religious community. Must submit a letter of recommendation from your scout leader in addition to at least one additional letter of recommendations from individuals representing the following: your church, school, or community. Must also submit a 500-word essay describing how scouting has impacted your life.
